Every time I go to Georgia, I pass this on the way. As per the meme, I cry evrytiem, because it has been outdoors and immobile along US25 as long as I can remember. Today, however, marks the first time I’ve bothered to track it down on Streetview. What is it - a ‘50 Dodge?

For ages I thought maybe it was some kind of Olds, as I couldn’t get a good look at it. I was thinking ‘49 Chevy after that, but I think some type of mopar is a better match.

It’s okay; most people cry when they go to Georgia.
/I live here so I’m allowed to say that.
I have no idea what that car is, though.

It does kind of bug me that they just casually mow around it. I don’t know if nobody’s ever made them an offer on it (surely not) or whether they either like it as a landmark or want too much. The glass being intact has got to mean a limit to internal rust, surely, but it gets very hot in Traveler’s Rest sometimes. Interior has got to be toast.

Why did I believe you were a Brit this whole time?

I’d bet it’s just a lawn decoration, unfortunately. That seems to be really common around the GA/SC border for some reason.

I bet there is quite a story behind that car. You should try to find out what it is.

Because I own an antique Land Rover, like tea, blather a lot without saying anything, and know too much about British cars and culture stuff in general?

It might be the car of the founder of Owens Logging there or something. You never know.

I wrote the number down. I just may give it a call. Nothing to lose.

You also want to drive a Mini. So there is that.
